Job Description


The Personal Lines Insurance Agent will work directly with agency clients ensuing they receive excellent service, comprehensive insurance offerings and thorough reviews of existing policies.


This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Duties of this position require regularly lifting items up to thirty pounds.

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasionally over-time may be requested. Some weekend event participation may be required.


Minimal to zero travel required. Travel to local events may be required. Occasional travel to other agency offices may be required.

Essential Functions

  • Knowledge on all lines of business including auto, homeowners, flood, boat, umbrella, etc.

  •  Accurately file and maintain client data and activities in the agency management system

  • Collect all information needed for quotes including inspections

  • Shop new and renewal business accounts through insurance market within agency timelines and deadlines

  • Use our Superior Option of Carriers to up-sell current book of business.

  • Market accounts to insurance carriers and/or provide required information to New Business Coordinator

  • Finalize and confirm all needed items and documents prior to reaching out to insured

  • Make and receive calls to agency insureds regarding in a professional and courteous manner

  • Independent servicing of assigned book of business with premium of 3-5 million

  • Work with department processor to receive calls of any endorsement, payment, questions, or claims

  • Assist the Personal Lines Department Manager with excess workflow

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience

  • 440 Insurance license / Customer Service

  • High School Diploma

  • 2+ Years in a professional office environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 4 Year college degree

  • 220 Insurance License

  • Proficiency with AMS
